Hands & Hearts is excited to now offer Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP). This interactive therapy utilizes the remarkable elements of the horse as a member of the treatment team for the exploration of feeling and behaviors to promote growth and development. EFP provides clinical assessment and treatment of mental health needs through equine assisted activities (learning through doing).
The Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) program at Hands and Hearts is coordinated by Dr. Woody Thompson, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Thomasville GA, where he had worked with individuals and families for over 30 years. His training in this field will take the therapy out of the office and into the corral. EFP is goal oriented to meet the client’s need for personal growth and healing.
