Hands and Hearts Retirees
A dedication to all our horses who are no longer in the program and who are enjoying their days in pasture.
Calvin, a Thoroughbred gelding, came to Hands and Hearts five years ago. Though he loved working with our riders and teaching them new skills, Calvin was ready for another adventure. He retired from the Hands and Hearts program in February 2011 to his new home with rider and volunteer, Kayston Salazar and family.
Kaylee is the oldest equine at Hands and Hearts at 32 years old! She had been a program horse for about the last 7 years. Kaylee is still sound and in good health at her old age…but she gets tired more easily simply due to age, so in October 2011, she was retired to the Hands and Hearts Hall of Fame and will live out the rest of her days in the Hands and Hearts pastures.
