Hands and Hearts for Horses

From the Horse’s Mouth

Camp Arrow 2008

On June 4th, Camp Arrow, a special needs camp in southwest Georgia, celebrated their 35th year of camp with their  annual field trip to Hands and Hearts for Horses.  In all thirty-three campers rode one of our nine horses through the sensory trail, assisted by Hands and Hearts volunteers and camp staff.  Despite the extremely hot temperatures, campers, camp staff, and HHH volunteers kept things cool with popsicles, lemonade, water, and lots of good laughs.  All in all everyone had a great time and we look forward seeing everyone again next year.

Thanks to all of our dedicated volunteers who came out to help with this year’s camp arrow ride.

A Great Showing at Jacobs’ Ladder

This year’s show at Jacobs’ Ladder was another big success!  Postponed for one week due to rain, the show went on without delay on April 12th.  Under the coaching guidance of Program Director, Kirsten McGee, eight of our rider traveled to Hahira, Ga to show off their skills.  Everyone did exceptionally well, and received first through third place in both trail and equitation.   Show results for our all who showed in trail and equitation are as follows:
