WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!!! “Life’s Most Persistent and Urgent Question Is, What Are You Doing for Others?” - Martin Luther King Jr.

Hey there Hands and Hearts for Horses fans! It’s me your new friendly “NEIGH”borhood horse blogger! I’m taking over the reins from my pal Chancy!! He had so much fun being the mystery blogger that I wanted a turn!

Blog Reminders

Each  week in my blog there will be one hidden clue to my identity, so make sure you tune in and read my blog every week for another clue! REMEMBER, if you think you know which horse I am, shoot us a message or email Stephanie at stephanie@handsandheartsforhorses.com ! Don’t spoil the mystery for our other followers by posting your guess publicly! Can you piece together the clues and figure out which horse I am? Because I’ll never tell, well not until enough of you have guessed my secret! Once enough correct guesses have come in, I’ll post a summary of the clues that should have led you to guess my identity and we will do a big reveal!

The first person to guess my identity correctly will win a Hands and Hearts for Horses sticker and a piece of pretty Hands and Hearts for Horses themed jewelry created by our very own boss lady (or as the humans call her executive director) Susie’s own mom! So, tune in for those clues and get those guesses in! One guess per person, per week please!

My friend Emily sure was excited to get her prizes when she came out to volunteer last week! She even got to take some super cute pictures with Chancy and her prizes! Great ways to figure out which horse I am are coming to volunteer, being one of our riders, or investigating on our social media or website!

Emily was our Winner from our first mystery blogger Chancy!

She came to volunteer last Thursday and got some snuggle time with Chancy, a Hands and Hearts for Horses sticker, and a necklace!

We Love Our Volunteers!!

Speaking of volunteers Hands and Hearts for Horses readers, this week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week! We horses LOVE our volunteers! We sure think our Hands and Hearts for Horses volunteers are the best in the world! Whether you come once a year, once a month, once a week, or multiple days a week, every minute of their time that our volunteers give to our organization makes a GIGANTIC difference to us horses, our riders, and our staff. We truly could not do our jobs without the help of our volunteers!

In my time at Hands and Hearts for Horses, I have gotten to know so many of our volunteers and witness everything they do for our participants! These amazing people come out in all kinds of weather; super cold days during winter, the extreme heat of summer, storms and they tough through and do all sorts of things around the barn! Whether it be leading us horses for lessons, grooming us, side-walking with our participants, helping clean out our stalls or pens (sorry for all the horse poop guys!), even helping us clean and organize, fixing things around the property, and so much more! These volunteers are seriously heroes to us!

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”

-Elizabeth Andrew

In fact, I hear FOUR of our volunteers were nominated for awards with Hands on Thomas County for their Hands on Heroes, Cheers for Volunteers event tomorrow! They will all be recognized at the event tomorrow April 23rd at the Ritz Ampitheatre. Our four nominees are Ashley White, Joslin Prescott, Luke Simpson, and in the student category Kaiden Pratt. We hear Kaiden even won Honorable Mention in her category which is completely amazing! Kaiden was also nominated for The President’s Volunteer Service Award! Stay tuned for pictures and updates from the event!

This week at the barn I’ve heard rumors that the human staff will have some special treats to thank our volunteers for everything they do! Remember volunteers, without you, our program would not be possible!

Well Hands and Hearts for Horses readers, that’s it for this week’s blog entry! Stay tuned all week as the human’s say big thanks to our volunteers all week long! And tune in next week for another entry of our blog, and the next clue to my identity!

Til’ next week!

XOXO Your New Friendly “NEIGH”borhood Horse Blogger
