Guess what Hands and Hearts for Horses fans?? It’s finally SPRING BREAK!!! That means Spring is officially here! It’s me, your friendly “NEIGH”borhood horse blogger back with this special Spring Break Edition of our blog!

Blog Reminders:

Remember, I have been hiding clues to my secret horsey identity in each week’s blog entry, so if you haven’t checked out our first two blog posts, go back and read them and search for the clues! I have included the link to each post below for easy access!

Week 2: https://handsandheartsforhorses.com/walking-the-fencelines/2024-3-18-showyourspirit

Week 3: https://handsandheartsforhorses.com/walking-the-fencelines/2024-3-25-sayinggoodbyetoadearfriend

Tune in each week for another clue! REMEMBER, if you think you know which horse I am, shoot us a message or email Stephanie at stephanie@handsandheartsforhorses.com ! Don’t spoil the mystery for our other followers by posting your guess publicly! Can you piece together the clues and figure out which horse I am? Because I’ll never tell, well not until enough of you have guessed my secret! Once enough correct guesses have come in I’ll post a summary of the clues that should have led you to guess my identity and we will do a big reveal!

The first person to guess my identity correctly will win a Hands and Hearts for Horses sticker and a piece of pretty Hands and Hearts for Horses themed jewelry created by our very own boss lady (or as the humans call her executive director) Susie’s own mom! So, tune in for those clues and get those guesses in! One guess per person, per week please!

SPRING BREAK!!

Readers, while our riders and volunteers are our favorite people, sometimes we horses need to take a break and relax!! Luckily for us, every year in the middle of Spring Session, we get a week off for Spring Break! It’s one of our favorite weeks of the year! We get a chance to give our brains and bodies a mental break and reset for the rest of Spring Session and our Adaptive Rodeo at the end of it! We come back after it refreshed and ready to get down to business!

Horse Party!

Moses put on his party hat to celebrate the start of Spring Break!! He definitely knows how to bring the fun!

While I notice all my herd friends playing and goofing off and relaxing, the human staff don’t seem to miss a beat!! Spring Break seems like no real break for them, but instead it’s a chance to get things done in and out of the barn that they usually can’t get to while lessons are going on. It’s like those ladies never get tired of working and just don’t know how to take it SLOW!

Let it Burn!

A burn pile like this can take days to burn down, and we horses can’t be in the pasture while it is lit!

One thing I have seen happening is the humans burning our huge burn piles that have gathered in our pastures, which means all my horsey friends in that pasture have to be moved or stay in their stalls until the fire is out! Some of those huge tree branches are still burning days later!

Burnin’ Down!

This burn pile is finally almost done burnin’ down, which means that the girls will get to go back to their pasture soon!

Also, I’m sad to say, some of my fellow horses seem to LOVE messing up Ms. Lynn’s hotwire on the fences! So that has been a fun task for the humans this week! When the hotwire isn’t working, us horses tend to get into mischief, like trying to eat grass on the other side of the fence, because, as the humans say, “The grass is always greener on the other side”! My friend Jack even got caught doing this by Ms. Devyn the other day!

“The Grass is ALWAYS Greener on the Other Side”

Jack caught getting into mischief!

The humans also seem to be hard at work catching up on what looks like mountains of paperwork, cleaning and organizing the barn, and all sorts of tasks that do NOT look that fun to me! I’ll take being a horse and kicking back this week for sure!

In fact, dear readers, I’m headed back to kick back and eat some grass now! Relaxing is hard work after all! Enjoy the rest of your Spring Break and don’t forget to send in your guesses as to my secret identity! Tune in next week for another clue and for more news on the happenings around the barn!

‘Til next time!

XOXO Your friendly “NEIGH”borhood Horse Blogger!
